Community CornerOrthoWilmington takes pride in supporting the many communities we serve. Whether on the athletic fields or elsewhere in the community, the physicians and staff of OrthoWilmington are actively involved. The physicians of OrthoWilmington are proud to be the team physicians for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington athletics and many area athletic teams, including:
Wilmington Hammerheads Medical coverage for the Wilmington Hammerheads is the latest addition to the teams covered by physicians and staff of OrthoWilmington. The group is proud to support professional soccer in Wilmington.
Wilmington Sharks Baseball The physicians at OrthoWilmington have been serving as team physicians for the Wilmington Sharks baseball team since 1998. This year we are proud to also serve as a sponsor of the new Kids Club program, the Sharks Pupz Club (Pups are the name for baby sharks).
The University of North Carolina at Wilmington
The physicians at OrthoWilmington have served as team physicians for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for over 30 years. We have seen it grow from Wilmington College into a thriving university, both academically and athletically. The Sports Medicine program at the University has trained many students who are involved in the care of athletes at the high school and collegiate level. We are proud to have assisted in the teaching efforts of these professionals.
Cape Fear Community College athletic teams have well over 100 student athletes competing in six intercollegiate sports. The Sea Devils are a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association - Division I and compete in the Carolina Junior College Conference. OrthoWilmington is a corporate sponsor of the Sea Devil Club and has served as Team Physicians for Sea Devil Athletics since 1999.
The athletic programs at Cape Fear Academy are supported by the physicians, therapists and athletic trainers from OrthoWilmington. In support of the school's programs, OrthoWilmington contributed two scoreboards to the athletic fields.
The athletic programs at Coastal Christian High School are supported by the physicians, therapists and athletic trainers from OrthoWilmington.
The physicians at OrthoWilmington have served as Team Physicians and have provided a Licensed Athletic Trainer for the Topsail High School athletic department since 1999.
OrthoWilmington continues to support the club as a major sponsor and has provided both physician and athletic training services since 1999.
Girls on the Run and Stride Programs OrthoWilmington is a proud supporter of the Girls on the Run program & the Stride program. The annual OrthoWilmington 5K benefits the Girls on the Run (GOTR) program and the STRIDE Program.
